Bet You'd Wear Them Well......

Immediately after reading this article in The Jerusalem Post, I jumped to my feet. Realizing the spot he now finds himself in, I sent my buddy Ehud a rush gift I think he is going to find essential given these tricky circumstances.

I just got back in from Overnite Fed Ex. Yeah, OK, it's pricey premium shipping to Jerusalem, but this is too important for a real friend to overlook. I'll someday be revered for this noble gesture by all humanity.

Here's a copy of the letter I enclosed with "the package":

Dear Ehud,

After reading the article today in the Jerusalem Post I knew instantly what I had to do. I hurriedly drove into town to the local city "Supply Store" and bought you the gift you obviously need now like never before.

Aw... come on, now. It's your bud, DI... You know I know about the childhood tennis accident and how things turned out. Remember that cruel pic the kids at school snapped when you were in the showers after gym class, copied and gave to everybody? I don't discuss what we all knew growing up, I'm just trying to help you out knowing what's what... and what's not. Just having some fakeys isn't enough, they need to at least appear big!

I mean, don't ya' think people were beginning to talk after that embarrassing world viewed whoopsy you had last summer with those Hezzies? With over 90% of your citizens backing all out war, you pulled up stakes and hauled ass! What do you think people are going to immediately think? Yup... uh huh. Another stunt or two like that and people are going to start digging into the records... Things won't be good if they find out.

And with big words like those recent ones about Iran, somebody is going to be checking for some growth somewhere, ya' know? You better be able to back it up if your skirt's up, Ehud! Not just Israel, but the whole world is watching you... good guys and the bad.

Now I tried to make sure they fit by getting the smallest "post hole" size they offer (that size was only available from Paris... Man, if anybody knew that they'd for sure know they are fake!) Anyway, the 'neckstrap' looks like a pretty good match to that old copied school locker room photo I still have. And for goodness sake, if it's a loose fit, put a harness on just to be sure. I'm telling you, you need these, Ehud! It's been the real problem all along!

Oh, and make sure you wear them, you know... walk around with them for awhile before going out in public again... You need some time, some serious time to get used to them, but once you do, they'll be your best friends forever!

Who's looking out for you?

DI

Hey! You didn't listen, did you??

Redefining "Debate":
Liberal Instructionism

Back in my younger days, I used to have this obvious misconception that a "debate" involved opposing views, such that the good and the bad points of the subject(s) in question could be discerned and argued.

But, noooooooo... I stand corrected after all these years of wandering around aimlessly misguided. Thankfully, the Dhimmicrats have adjusted my path for me and the rest of us 'followers'. You see, it turns out that a real debate excludes the opposing views. It is an assembly of "those who just know", and therefore the messages to be reaped from such an occasion are expedited and delivered almost seamlessly.

And, quick to dissolve their own former backbones into the obligatory mush, the Republicrats have stepped properly into the dictated conformation and have scheduled their own "Republican debates". Way to follow! ..."GOOD work, thee who are simply wrong".

One thing's for sure, with everybody in attendance in virtual complete agreement, the elitist "Party Knows Best" guidance is imparted to the also partisan audiences with almost no disruption or dissent. Sweet, friendly, jovial directives free from any pesky opposing views or unpleasant discourse.

Thank God Allah that the Dhimms have once again set the tone for political correctness and removed that formerly cumbersome condition of competition. Man, I tell ya'... That's real leadership!

Yeah, America... when we're done here sorting this all out, the Alpha Ass says...

"You're next!"

Remember...

It is your basic duty to remember what was given for you by those who never knew you... they only knew of you. For those noble, selfless souls... that was enough.

Same Mistake, Another Tragic Day...

I join the people of our nation in sadly mourning the senseless loss of all the innocent murder victims, the remaining bereaved family members and friends and the police officers who tried in earnest to get there in time, but as so frequently happens, did not. It is senseless due to its' random, cold nature and the fact that the liklihood of this recurring remains a very real and certain prospect.

I get even more sad to see the usual aftermath of stupid statements and musings over the "shock" that this could happen and the bemoaning of a mindless search for "safety". The press now takes the ever repeated stance of interviewing the witnesses and students/faculty members and stating again and again the "disbelief", the futile questions of "why" and the always rejuvenated cries for further disarming of legal, law-abiding members of the public who should have the most basic right of self defense as their option.

The police do their level best to stop mindless acts of killing, yet they cannot see into the warped mind of someone who is on a determined march to death, hellbent on taking others with them first. The police are human and cannot be the all encompassing security force that society fully expects them to be, at all places, times and situations. It is a very unfair charge of duty placed upon our law enforcement community.

As with the War on Terror, there is no "Easy Button" that would allow our citizenry to ignore their own duty to take their own security and stability seriously. The liberal mindset is to always assign this duty to those around them.

"Where were the police? Where was the Government? Don't we have the "right" to be "safe" in public???"

The police were there, doing the best they could do given what they knew. Stop and try to conceive of the sense of letdown and failing those officers are living today. Not ONE amongst them would have allowed one innocent death to occur had they had the power to have been there in time.

The Government has passed laws that preclude the otherwise defenseless citizen from having the option of taking steps to provide themselves and those immediately around them with some form of significant recourse. But that Government did that with the public's vote and that of the public's elected Congressional representatives. You and me... (OK, not me... but far too many.)

And NO... we don't have any perceived RIGHT to be "safe" in public. We never did have, it is pure fantasy and there is NO SUCH THING AS TRULY SAFE!!!

Evil exists. Evil is REAL. And evil is cold and uncaring. Contrary to what is fashionable and progressively liberal, evil will win again and again, hands down, until that time in which we finally stand up and say "Stop".

We must say and do! "I will take responsibility for my own security. I will recognize that crazy, unrepentent, lunatics exist and they may well try to harm me, my family or my fellow law abiding citizen. I will learn to take the steps that I can to fight back and avoid positively and surely being a helpless, scurrying, hunted victim."

The real question that should be asked is, "How many more times must we see this before we act to actually curb it?"

Apparently, many more tears must first fall before we collectively face reality.

I feel that an individual commenter at Sunflower Desert has promptly asked most of what I alluded to above and perfectly illustrates the points I was trying to make. I reprint below my answers to each of his individual statements:

Matt, you and those who think(?) like you are at the very heart of this problem we have in our schools and other public facilities.

"i’d still feel much safer is there were no guns on campus at all."

Spiffy and progressive thought… so where’s the beef? How did you plan on insuring that no guns enter the campus? When someone decides to do such an abhorrent act, they will do it, whether it means shooting their way through the metal detectors and those attending them or otherwise. Your not even remotely realistic.

"besides, even if several people had a gun in the hall this morning how much good do you think they would have been able to do?"

People with firearms training are educated to be aware, alert, prepared and calm in the face of a threat. If “several people” had been armed, the liklihood that one of them would have been able to return fire and stop this idiot would have been a helluva lot greater than the alternative reality of a classroom full of unarmed victims, ripe for the killing. Additionally, if it was publicly known that students and teachers both had the right to be armed and therefore COULD BE, it might well have given pause for thought to the would be perpetrator. Scum like this go where they will have no threat of return fire… he didn’t go into the police station or the local shooting range and start attempting to kill people, did he? How many times do people like you have to see this miserable piece of history repeated before it actually gets through your stone cranium???

"There was already so much confusion how were students to know who was the malicious gunner and who was the ‘good guy’?"

Ummm…. I would bet that the other students could tell who the good guys were when they took note of the fact that they were one second studying in class and the next all trying to stop the one guy that was indiscriminately killing all those around him. Boy, that was a tough question to consider…

"How would police know when they arrived on the scene?"

Ummmm… that would have been easily discerned by the fact that the shooter in question was dead, by someone else who was armed and capable and with a whole lot less dead victims laying around first, rather than after the police showed up (as so frequently is the case) and after the gunman thankfully decided he was done and turned the gun on himself.

"I think that your romantic vision of gun slingin’ heroes saving the day is a little naive."

How quaint… the rest of us here seem to agree that your view is prevalent. ludicrous and indirectly(?) responsible for the “shoot fish in a barrel” scenario that exists in each and every one of our classrooms across the country yesterday, today and, until we change things… tomorrow.

I find it such an exercise in futility and pointlessness to sit around every time, after one of these unnecessary random acts of murder, and interview witnesses to ask about their “feelings” over the incident. Remarkably, that is the chief focus. Inane questions like “How could this happen?” and statements like how “unbelievable” it all is permeate the airwaves. That and more liberal gibberish about how we will all be “safer” when we are completely unarmed universally… except for the law ignoring criminal perpetrators, of course. They also are big fans of restricted citizen rights to defend themselves… Afterall, who wants to be a criminal in a capable, armed and potentially defensive general public?

*UPDATE #2*

The antidote... rejected.

*UPDATE #3*

It doesn't have to be like this... Here's another same day example of an attempted attack that turned out quite differently:

A man found dead in a Pascagoula apartment early Saturday morning may have been killed in self defense.

Van "Buddy" Bardwell, 42, was found dead in the kitchen of Lowell Richard Semans' apartment at 4508 Lanier Avenue. Bardwell was clutching a hatchet, according to a press release from the Pascagoula Police Department.

According to the press release, Semans warned Bardwell not to enter his home, but Bardwell charged Semans, who shot him once with a .38 caliber handgun. No charges have been filed.

The press release also said Semans and Bardwell had a confrontation Friday evening, but Jonathan Randall and Danielle Roberts, who live in the apartment next to Semans, said they thought the two men were friends.

*UPDATE #4*

Even in the country with the world's strictest gun control, it just doesn't work.

Useful Idiot

“If [Nancy] Pelosi believes, as she told the [Israeli] Knesset, that Iran must be prevented from acquiring nuclear weapons, she must explain how that is to be done without at least the possibility of recourse to military action. This she cannot do, because of the anti-Iraq war sentiment that has swept her own party’s precincts. Instead she plays domestic politics at Israel’s expense, despite warnings from our own state department that visiting Syria is a recipe for trouble. Ms. Pelosi will be fortunate if she, unlike the royal marines, is allowed to return home to America, though it is an open question where she can do more damage, over there or over here.”

-The New York Sun

Gy. Sergeant Krueger, USMC,
to Speaker Pelosi:

[*Many THANX to Heidi @ Euphoric Reality for posting this!]

"How can you even think of pushing forward legislation to set a withdrawal date for US forces from Iraq? Do you know how much you embolden the insurgency here in Iraq? YOU ARE JEOPARDIZING THE LIVES OF US SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN WITH YOUR ACTIONS. You and your fellow Democrats are causing the Al Qaeda supported insurgency to use more catastrophic attacks against us and Iraqi forces. You will see more SVBIED’s with chlorine gas, more VBIED’s against civilians and security forces every time you and other Democrats open your mouths. You will have to live with yourself and try to sleep at night knowing all the defeatist propaganda you have spewed forth is nothing more than ammunition for Islamic extremist groups around the world and more US deaths. The ! unsuspecting people who support you know nothing of what goes on over here; you fill their heads with nonsense and talk of pullout to appease them. The only thing that will happen is the establishment of an extremist Islamic state where sharia law is the law of the land and no one is safe.

Sunni Moslems here are coming to our side and joining forces with the government to defeat Al Qaeda(AQI) here in Iraq, but they need our help and they need us to stay. I have spent the last 7 months(3rd tour) in Iraq. I have watched Iraqi citizens pick up weapons and form militias in areas to join forces with Iraqi police/Army. Common citizens who fight and die because we are standing next to them. Not cutting and running or talking of withdrawal. This started after the surge forces the President sent here arrived. We have lost Marines also and it hurts more than you will ever know but we have made a commitment to these people. And I for one will not abandon them and I have of a platoon of Marines who feel the same. I have no control over what happened in 2003 and why we invaded Iraq. That is another discussion, but we are here and they need our help to rid their country of these terrorists. Yes eventually we will leave but we need to do a phased withdrawal without a timeline. At least without a timeline that is published for the world to know.

The citizens of Iraq need to see some solidarity in our government, Democrats and Republicans coming together and supporting our President in this war. There is a middle ground here for both parties, you all need to come together and work towards a solution. What we don’t need is more theatrics and clashes between the parties. AQI loves to see that it causes them to do more attacks and continue with the murder and intimidation campaign against Iraqi citizens.

Someone needs to step forward and bring the two parties together. Meet and talk about what you all can do and come to an agreement on the war. Like I said before we need a unified front to present to the world on the Iraq war. The Iraqi people need a morale boost, they need to see we are behind them and we will support them and not cut and run. The insurgency needs to see our resolve is strong and we will endure and defeat them. Extremist Islamist terror groups use our perceived weakness against us. They misunderstand our kindness for weakness. Weakness shown to the world brings more recruits to their cause; it causes more civilian deaths and violence.

Please I implore you to not push this agenda. I have watched you on television and you seem to be using this as a steppingstone to further your political career. STOP!!! More is at stake here. Our countries word is on the line, my word to many Iraqi citizens is on the line. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines lives are at stake. We know the risks and we face them daily. Don’t make our mission more difficult. "

Where I Go To Escape
The Traitors and Wingnuts

Far from any settled towns, there are places where you can get close to God and see what He has given us all... what so many would callously throw away. It remains the same here, whether you, me or anyone is actually there or not. It is severe, unforgiving, without apologies, cold and raw. It is truly a magical place.

And when I am there, it is mine.

The Developing Liberal Mind

Why can't history and fact pertaining to the issues of freedom and urgent pending threats of Jihad break through the obstacle of a liberal public education? Where is our youth's focus??

Air... the Final Frontier.

Perhaps an interesting excerpt analysis from a respected authority on liberals, Dr. Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr., a forensic psychiatrist who wrote The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness is in order...

Like all other human beings, the modern liberal reveals his true character, including his madness, in what he values and devalues, in what he articulates with passion. Of special interest, however, are the many values about which the modern liberal mind is not passionate: his agenda does not insist that the individual is the ultimate economic, social and political unit; it does not idealize individual liberty and the structure of law and order essential to it; it does not defend the basic rights of property and contract; it does not aspire to ideals of authentic autonomy and mutuality; it does not preach an ethic of self-reliance and self-determination; it does not praise courage, forbearance or resilience; it does not celebrate the ethics of consent or the blessings of voluntary cooperation. It does not advocate moral rectitude or understand the critical role of morality in human relating. The liberal agenda does not comprehend an identity of competence, appreciate its importance, or analyze the developmental conditions and social institutions that promote its achievement. The liberal agenda does not understand or recognize personal sovereignty or impose strict limits on coercion by the state. It does not celebrate the genuine altruism of private charity. It does not learn history’s lessons on the evils of collectivism.

What the liberal mind is passionate about is a world filled with pity, sorrow, neediness, misfortune, poverty, suspicion, mistrust, anger, exploitation, discrimination, victimization, alienation and injustice. Those who occupy this world are “workers,” “minorities,” “the little guy,” “women,” and the “unemployed.” They are poor, weak, sick, wronged, cheated, oppressed, disenfranchised, exploited and victimized. They bear no responsibility for their problems. None of their agonies are attributable to faults or failings of their own: not to poor choices, bad habits, faulty judgment, wishful thinking, lack of ambition, low frustration tolerance, mental illness or defects in character. None of the victims’ plight is caused by failure to plan for the future or learn from experience. Instead, the “root causes” of all this pain lie in faulty social conditions: poverty, disease, war, ignorance, unemployment, racial prejudice, ethnic and gender discrimination, modern technology, capitalism, globalization and imperialism. In the radical liberal mind, this suffering is inflicted on the innocent by various predators and persecutors: “Big Business,” “Big Corporations,” “greedy capitalists,” U.S. Imperialists,” “the oppressors,” “the rich,” “the wealthy,” “the powerful” and “the selfish.”

The liberal cure for this endless malaise is a very large authoritarian government that regulates and manages society through a cradle to grave agenda of redistributive caretaking. It is a government everywhere doing everything for everyone. The liberal motto is “In Government We Trust.” To rescue the people from their troubled lives, the agenda recommends denial of personal responsibility, encourages self-pity and other-pity, fosters government dependency, promotes sexual indulgence, rationalizes violence, excuses financial obligation, justifies theft, ignores rudeness, prescribes complaining and blaming, denigrates marriage and the family, legalizes all abortion, defies religious and social tradition, declares inequality unjust, and rebels against the duties of citizenship. Through multiple entitlements to unearned goods, services and social status, the liberal politician promises to ensure everyone’s material welfare, provide for everyone’s healthcare, protect everyone’s self-esteem, correct everyone’s social and political disadvantage, educate every citizen, and eliminate all class distinctions. With liberal intellectuals sharing the glory, the liberal politician is the hero in this melodrama. He takes credit for providing his constituents with whatever they want or need even though he has not produced by his own effort any of the goods, services or status transferred to them but has instead taken them from others by force.

It should be apparent by now that these social policies and the passions that drive them contradict all that is rational in human relating, and they are therefore irrational in themselves. But the faulty conceptions that lie behind these passions cannot be viewed as mere cognitive slippage. The degree of modern liberalism’s irrationality far exceeds any misunderstanding that can be attributed to faulty fact gathering or logical error. Indeed, under careful scrutiny, liberalism’s distortions of the normal ability to reason can only be understood as the product of psychopathology. So extravagant are the patterns of thinking, emoting, behaving and relating that characterize the liberal mind that its relentless protests and demands become understandable only as disorders of the psyche. The modern liberal mind, its distorted perceptions and its destructive agenda are the product of disturbed personalities.

As is the case in all personality disturbance, defects of this type represent serious failures in development processes. The nature of these failures is detailed below. Among their consequences are the liberal mind’s relentless efforts to misrepresent human nature and to deny certain indispensable requirements for human relating. In his efforts to construct a grand collectivist utopia—to live what Jacques Barzun has called “the unconditioned life” in which “everybody should be safe and at ease in a hundred ways”—the radical liberal attempts to actualize in the real world an idealized fiction that will mitigate all hardship and heal all wounds. (Barzun 2000). He acts out this fiction, essentially a Marxist morality play, in various theaters of human relatedness, most often on the world’s economic, social and political stages. But the play repeatedly folds. Over the course of the Twentieth Century, the radical liberal’s attempts to create a brave new socialist world have invariably failed. At the dawn of the Twenty-first Century his attempts continue to fail in the stagnant economies, moral decay and social turmoil now widespread in Europe. An increasingly bankrupt welfare society is putting the U.S. on track for the same fate if liberalism is not cured there. Because the liberal agenda’s principles violate the rules of ordered liberty, his most determined efforts to realize its visionary fantasies must inevitably fall short. Yet, despite all the evidence against it, the modern liberal mind believes his agenda is good social science. It is, in fact, bad science fiction. He persists in this agenda despite its madness.
