If You Read Nothing Else Today...

...Make sure you read this excellent post... PLEASE!

Laura at Pursuing Holiness is one of the finest, sincere, God fearing and honorable personalities I have 'met' in the vast Conservative blogosphere. She doesn't write fluff or filler posts... I don't think she would know how to if she so chose. She has once again kicked the ball out of the park with this factual review of our history with Iran. If you are unfamiliar with her disciplined and hard hitting writing style, treat yourself to this fine example. You will find it time well spent. And just like me, you will go back again and again for a fresh fix.

Thanks to those in power in our country who would whither and run from the problems created and imposed by our sworn enemies, the perilous intersection in this WOT will never be far from our road. We can always quit and scurry home with our tail between our legs. We can always then lick our wounds and attempt to convince eachother that this is all Jorge's fault and we are now "safe"... no one will attack us again on our home soil.

That is the purest of BS and the cancer will only spread to our homeland if we are ever so foolish as to back down. The terrorists are wagering everything on the expectation that, sooner or later, we will quit.

We simply cannot. Period.

A Fairly Nipply Weekend Ahead...

I guess a picture tells the story rather well. The current wind and wind chill as of about 11 AM around here today are circled in red on the left, along with the general temp. description pertaining to today also in red on the right. (They pay someone to sum things up like this...)

Man, this Global Warming is tough.

I'm going to have to give Dr. Heidi a call about this... (if you check her blog article, don't miss reading the comments... they're hands down the very best part!)

No More Squirrel Stew
for New Jersey-ites...

Yet another tragic occurrence for residents of the liberal bastion of New Jersey! It was difficult enough for the few remaining hunters there to comply with the paperwork, rules and restrictions on getting a hunting license, legally possessing a firearm to hunt with and ultimately finding a place to hunt without being descended upon by three or more federal investigating agencies.

Now there is so much contaminating poop in the state that hunters have been advised to limit their weekly intake of squirrel meat to a mere two meals per seven day period! Outrageous!!

Therefore, my query becomes: If the state's squirrel population is contaminated, what is left there that is acceptable to eat??

Is one expected to also curtail their consumption of beaver, muskrat, opossum, rattlesnake and raccoon?? Eventually, this will relegate all residents to a diet of rice cakes and water (imported from elsewhere, of course). This lack of real woods protein will only surely exacerbate the rampant liberalism that has become so pervasive in the area!

Mark my words... Ignore this emergency and we will all suffer the resulting voting impact. I fear this could decidedly tilt the '08 Election and result in the nightmare of a President Hildebeast becoming a reality. I've even come up with the Republican nominee's campaign slogan...

"Save the New Jersey Rodents or endure the Biggest Rat of them all!"

Liberal Crystal Ball

I thought the following liberal song, written and (assumably) sung by the revered liberal wordsmith herein noted, was a great fit with the picture that follows it. I think she decided to write it to another's tune because she had to really focus on her lyrical construction, yes? I truly wish it was not such an excellent example of most liberal's debate ammunition.

Hmmm. I "feel" confused, but I think I am just not fully enlightened to their 'vision' quite yet... It'll grow on me, I'm sure. (...like mold)

WE ARE LIBERAL

(Words by Carrie Koehnline. To the tune of “I Feel Pretty” from West Side Story)

We are liberal, oh so liberal
So we don’t know what’s right from what’s wrong
With our protests keep America from being strong
la la la la la la la la la la

We are whiners and complainers
And we just hate our country it’s true.
Raise our children
To grow up and hate their country too
nye nye nye nye nye nye nye nye nye nye nye nye nye

If you’ve got a solid marriage, husband and wife
We’ll destroy it if we can run for your life
Every woman must be with aWoman
Every man must be with a man
Yes we have a Big Agenda
That will crumble our society in this land
Of the brave and this home of the free

Ann Coulter, Fox News and Rush Limbaugh
With their balanced reporting of facts
Will give you the low-down on liberals
Both our wimpiness and our unspeakable acts.

We think we want accountability
But we just hate freedom, obviously.
We think we want truth and integrity
But we’re all just nuts for conspiracy.

Keep away from us. You should all run.
We are dangerous to your children.
We’ll give them facts about condoms and sex
So clearly our minds should be rated “x”

I am liberal, oh so liberal
So the media is biased towards me
They loved Clinton
But poor Bush they will not let him be
wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wha wha

I love foreigners
I love immigrants
I love anyone not Christian or white
But our country we refuse to see is always right
La la la la la la la la la la la la

With our liberal philosophy what can it be?
Trying to protect the poor goodness what for?
And the bill of rights
Trying to unite
Trying not to fight a worthless war
It is clear we
Are extremists
And a threat to your security
In this land of the brave and this home of the free.

Ain't dat jus' Budefull, huh? Kin ya' bleave she wrote it all by 'erself?

This is an argument any Conservative would simply have to take seriously! Afterall, have I reminded you yet they are now in majority control of our future? Oh, look... here it comes now!

OK, What Did YOU Think?

Personally, I thought Jorge did a pretty good job. (I will spell his name correctly when he decides to actually do something productive about our border porosity. Until then, I will generally support him, with that distinct exception, but he will get the illegal alien tint.)

He is a notoriously HORRIBLE public speaker, but does usually manage to deliver a better speech when it is scripted and rehearsed like the State of the Union compilation. I thought he was quite smooth and spoke with personality last evening, unlike the normal board stiff Algore presentation.

I also thought there was some pretty good substance to his words, but, other than that superficial and vague observation, I don't want to spoil or flavor your opinions by first presenting mine. I am very interested in your dissection of his effort last evening.

So, for once, please leave your personal analysis, critical, endorsing or otherwise and I will further expound on my opinion subsequently in the comments.

You first... and thanks as always for taking a moment of your time to do so. Oh, and any other individuals who were present at the SOTU speech that you noticed something, ummmm... 'noteworthy' about would also be welcome.

See ya' in the comments box!

We're In Good Hands With 'All Fate'

The following is directly quoted.

If you need other words added to understand the gravity of this man's statements (in plain English, despite the fact he might well have been more comfortable speaking them in Spanish), may I humbly suggest that more words, any words, wouldn't help you anyway.

Inside the Beltway

By John McCaslin, January 18, 2007

On Dec. 5, Newsweek magazine touted an interview with then-incoming House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rep. Silvestre Reyes as an "exclusive." And for good reason.

"In a surprise twist in the debate over Iraq," the story began, Mr. Reyes "said he wants to see an increase of 20,000 to 30,000 U.S. troops as part of a 'stepped up effort to dismantle the militias.' "

"We have to consider the need for additional troops to be in Iraq, to take out the militias and stabilize Iraq," the Texas Democrat said to the surprise of many, "I would say 20,000 to 30,000."

Then came President Bush's expected announcement last week, virtually matching Mr. Reyes' recommendation and argument word-for-word -- albeit the president proposed only 21,500 troops.

Wouldn't you know, hours after Mr. Bush announced his proposal, Mr. Reyes told the El Paso Times that such a troop buildup was unthinkable.

"We don't have the capability to escalate even to this minimum level," he said.

The chairman's "double-talk" did not go unnoticed. Among others, Rep. Joe Wilson, South Carolina Republican and a member of the House Armed Services Committee, says such blatant "hypocrisy" undermines both national security and the war on terrorism.

Unfortunately for the new House intelligence chief, this is his second (some would argue his third) major blunder in the space of one month. When asked by Congressional Quarterly reporter Jeff Stein whether al Qaeda was a Sunni or Shi'ite organization, he answered: "Predominantly, probably Shi'ite."

As Mr. Stein wrote later: "He couldn't have been more wrong. Al Qaeda is profoundly Sunni. If a Shi'ite showed up at an al Qaeda clubhouse, they'd slice his head off and use it for a soccer ball."
The reporter added: "To me, it's like asking about Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland: Who's on what side?"

In the same interview, Mr. Stein had asked Mr. Reyes about the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

His now-infamous reply: "Hezbollah. Uh, Hezbollah? ... Why do you ask me these questions at 5 o'clock? Can I answer in Spanish? Do you speak Spanish?"

Herein lies a shining example of the wizards we have placed in the majority and given the keys to drive America's Congressional automobile.

"Change"? That was the liberal mantra during the recent catastrophic election, remember? You can bet that this will precipitate "change" alright... and we're all going along for the ride with the childproof doors locked up tight.

NOTE: Seat belts, helmets and fire retardant suits are now mandatory. All trauma life support personnel please stand by in the Emergency Room...

What's Going On Over At Your House?

So did you think I died, fell off the face of the Earth or stopped having my pointed opinions? Nope. None of the above actually.

In fact, my opinions have probably never been so consistently harsh, rude, loud or outspoken. I just haven't written them lately. The holidays were busy and yet when they finally arrived by date, I was ready to spend some time with my little wife and two wonderful girls (my puppies). I wanted tradition and family and closeness... and I wanted to stretch it out as long as I possibly could. It was NICE and it made me slow to return to the stench of our changing, devolving society. I made the assumption that those who faithfully read my refuse probably didn't spend hours thinking to themselves, "I wonder if 'DI' approves of Nancy Pelosi?" HA!

The political scene is morbid and getting worse, however expected that was anyway. I know, I know... It is the process of allowing the Dem's the opportunity to thoroughly screw things up so amazingly that America will realize (by Prez. Election '08) that we were all morons to ever allow them the keys to our car in the first place.

Hmmmm... what more to say about that? I see no need for repetition. It is still true and it is still not the way I would have chosen, but the intersection is far behind us now. I believe my distaste with this approach is chiefly due to my difficulty in imagining that it should be necessary at all. Right and wrong seem to be more easily perceived in my small mind... the questions and "close calls" seem very few to me. This is surely a major shortcoming of mine.

I have rather opted to visit many of the outstanding blogs that I list on my page and occasionally leave a comment where deemed appropriate. The Conservative blogs have done their usual excellent job of covering the issues as they occurred and I have found little to add except a few of my supportive words here and there. I don't troll liberal sites, as I see very little chance for real debate, and besides, I have been the receiver of more than my quota of personal insults in my past. No eminent need for more in this corner, especially when it doesn't lead to anything resolved. So... while I remain ready to defend against them, I don't actively solicit them.

In fact, my "coping mechanism" has been to apply myself to my business and my family. I can't, with clear conscience, divorce myself from the news but why join the chorus of deserved, whining chants over what is so abhorrent? It doesn't seem to change much. I see little need to express my astonishment or sadness when kids get kicked off a school bus for speaking English (not the first time speaking English was "wrong"), a group of singers get their asses kicked for singing the Star Spangled Banner on New Year's Eve, a father beheads his 4 year old little girl and leaves her corpse for her mother to discover, Ted "The Guzzler" Kennedy threatens to withhold finances for our troops in order to force Jorge to decidedly turn Iraq into Vietnam, and members of the NYFD are required to remove any references to 9-11 from their lockers, trucks and personal equipment including anything deemed supportive to the war in Iraq. Meanwhile, Joe Kennedy plays oil delivery type guy on my television while enticing people to dial 1-800-JOE-4-OIL so you can get your own personal fix of "cheap oil" from our "good friend" Hugo and the nice people of Venezuela (I'd burn my own furniture in my livingroom first...).

As if these things are any less foolish if I fail to chime in and state the obvious? Did you good folks who stop in here honestly expect me to condone any of these things? Nah... I didn't think so. This is all so unbelievable that twenty years ago it would have had trouble passing for a cutting floor movie reject.

What is likely much more deserving of mention is why. This, all of this, is the product of loose morals and loose leadership. There's my declaration. It is decay. It is the result of years and years and years of slow, steady erosion and blurring of the basics of right and wrong. Ultimately, the point where we will arrive is that there IS NO WRONG.

It is OK to allow child molesters to go free with no hard jail time as recently was permitted by Judge Edward Cashman in Burlington, Vermont. On January 3rd, the abuser, 53 year-old Ralph Guillette, himself assigned a much more fitting punishment than Cashman was able to muster.

It is OK to wonder what unfair and cruel experience in Michael Devlin's background "made" him see no other option but to kidnap and ruin a young child's life. (Hell, if we had only been a little later in finding Ben Ownby, Shawn Hornbeck would probably not have even been an issue to deal with. Shawn was growing up, you know. He didn't have that early pubescent appeal anymore and was probably only useful for training his new replacement, at which time he would have surely ended up under a nearby landfill. How many young boys do you think came before Shawn... or did you consider that? Wanna' bet???)

Want more? Why is it that three young men's lives can be dragged through the dirt for approaching a year with NO EVIDENCE pointing to them, in fact, quite the contrary. Evidence is instead that FIVE OTHER men had sex with the slut stripper in North Carolina at some other time that same day!! Why is it that the wheels of justice roll so incrementally even after it has been solidly established that the DA Mike Nifong and Forensics Lab Head Dr. Brian Meehan BOTH withheld that exonerating information from the defense attorneys (Meehan found sperm sourced DNA in both her underwear as well as her rectum)? Nifong has NEVER met with the accuser... and his office did only in late December. The trollop's story has changed more times than can be accurately counted (really!) and she just gave birth to the baby of yet someone else.

Twice now, that slimeball Nifong has released major case changes late on a Friday afternoon in an attempt to reduce media attention. First, he continues to maintain the charges of "kidnapping" (Huh? ...who got kidnapped?) and "sexual abuse" while dropping the original rape charge. Second, he recuses himself from the case stating that he cannot continue and guarantee a "fair trial for the accuser" (that right is guaranteed for the accused, Butthead!) because he is now facing numerous ethics violation charges over his mishandling of the case. Where is the universal public outrage for these excuseless acts? Why is it not important that the system may be serving up a huge platter of injustice for those accused? Does that not speak volumes for the system's lack of distinction between right and wrong?

When people, MOST people, just don't seem to really care or get ruffled by these things anymore, does it mean that everything is OK now? ...or does it mean that nothing matters? Is there any difference between the two?

No, I'm not done blogging. I'm not tired of rendering opinion nor am I anywhere near short of having them. I am just thoroughly, completely disgusted.

WOO! HOO!
It IS a Happy New Year!

John Sobieski at Pedestrian Infidel has posted a most wonderful photo and story of our American War Hero, John F'ng Kerry, enjoying the camaraderie and adoration of the multitude of troops in Iraq who respect and closely follow his decorated fighting career! Freshly back from a collaborative visit with the Syrians, I have to wonder how he found the current military cuisine? Did someone do a good job of preparing your food, Mr. Kerry?

Always places of astute news and information, it is simply hard to imagine that the "pro's" over at CNBC/MSNBC/CNN missed this very noteworthy illustration of the outpouring of military passion for this legendary war soldier!

My hat is gratefully tipped to Mr. Sobieski for his outstanding catch!

(Why doesn't anyone want to sit with Johnny?)
